Ten Most Popular Posts at Writer Tamago

Tomorrow I return to work, and a bit more regular posting here. I will be getting to work on interviews, but for a while I need to be revising and working on reading Hugo stories (of which I have received a few to cover.)

For your entertainment, since a retro-spectacle seems to be a bit fun, I thought I would post the top 10 posts of all time from the Tamago. I am thinking I may wish to collect some of my favorite journal entries eventually into an e-book. This will sort of slake that thirst until I have my authorly stuff circulating in the real world. It’s kind of fun to see what people are reading.

Have fun. Marvel at the breadth of my grasp of subjects. 🙂

1. Swill 4: Back before I went to Viable Paradise 2009, this guy named Sean Craven talked about a magazine he produced with his friend Rob Pierce. I said that I would review it, and this is that review. Sneaky Sean and Rob! Their magazine was literary. Weird, yes, but literary. It’s still a good issue, and I still want you to get it just so you can read Girl Like That.

2. Why I Read the Classics–Arthur Clennam in Little Dorrit: Behold the English professor in her natural habitat. This post was buoyed up by the popularity of the BBC Little Dorrit mini-series that came out about this time. I love Arthur Clennam as a character, and was very happy to talk about him.

3. Viable Paradise: Technically a page more than an entry, this page seems to be a resource for people who want to find out more about the workshop on Martha’s Vineyard, as well as links to other people’s reports and interviews about my fellow VP’ers from XIII. I think of this as a handy reference, and a wonderful scrapbook page.

4. Seams of Reality: With the help of a link from Ferrett Steinmetz, this is a break down of my visit to Universal’s Potter Park, and what I expected Disney would have done better. I still await the opening of Dobby’s.

5. VP Profile Profile #7–Ferrett Steinmetz: My write up about Ferrett. I guess people are curious. 🙂

6. Catherine’s Top Fifteen Reading Picks for 2010: The first year my reading recs attracted some attention. It was enjoyable to share books that I thought everyone should read.

7. Why I Read the Classics–Psychology of Dosteovsky: Another in the English professor series. This time, I break down the Raskalnikov unravel.

8. Iowa and House Joint Resolution 6: A break down on why it’s not likely Iowa will have a constitutional amendment overturning gay marriage any time soon. At the time, people were a little worried, and this was written as a post to assuage. Meanwhile, we still hold that 1 seat majority in the Senate, in spite of our governor’s best attempt this year to appoint a Democrat out. However, the special election re-seated a Democrat, thus keeping the issue out of contestation this year.

9. Let’s Write the Seanan McGuire Way!: A punchy little post that comes out of watching Seanan McGuire work on 154.72 projects at one time.

10. Being a Resilient Writer: A transcript and summation of the Wiscon 2011 panel of the same name that I was on, pretty much with many of the Wyrdsmiths. It was a blast!
