Times, they are interesting at Writer Tamago right now. I can’t tell you the most interesting thing yet. See? I can be just as cryptic as my writer friends who aren’t allowed to disclose things too. I think I’ve joined a club.
Um. I’m very tired, and very wound up, but it’s been a fine day at Wiscon. If only I could sleep tonight, it would be a better day.
There will be an update. Right now, though, I mostly wanted to let you know that something unexpected (and good!) has happened. Why yes, it *is* a cool thing like 2006, but the stakes are higher, and therefore, it is less likely to work.
However, if you could burn a stick of incense or light a church candle, it would not be remiss.

Oh, the cryptic-ness is killing me!
And what happened in 2006?
In 2006, I stopped wanting to be an author, and started being an author. All my life, I had wanted to, but I filled my life with work and things for other people, and I was under the delusion that I did not have time.
I read for the first time at Wiscon, and my story was well-received. I was approached by a horror small press to send them a novel, and Cats Curious was kind enough to ask me to send them material. That and the reading ultimately led to Hulk Hercules.
What happened that was profound and changed my life was that ABSOLUTE strangers found my writing interesting and good. Of course, my writing had been complimented before. When it’s your friends, you can’t be sure in your own mind. When it’s someone who doesn’t know you, it’s a real confidence boost.
2006. The year I decided I was going to make an effort. I’m two years in, and pleased with progress so far.

Awesome! Yay for Wiscon — I’ve never been, but have been meaning to go for years. You’re kicking butt for having been serious for such a short time!
Thanks. I am giving it my best shot.
