  1. Thanks for the shout out, Catherine. And sorry about the being screwed over. It’s been a while since we’ve had to fight this way, and we’re a little rusty here in Ohio. In our state we have the referendum, which means if we don’t like a law and can get enough of our fellow citizens to agree, we can delay the law and put it to a vote of the general electorate. Right now, the Ohio legislature is going peddle to the metal to get their vote done in time to have that general election/popular vote this year (the off election year). If they take too long, the vote will be delayed until the 2012 general election (a Presidential year). Frankly, I don’t think we’ll have problems gathering the 250,000 some odd signatures in the time required (and neither do the conservatives). I also don’t think we’ll have problems motivating the base to get out and vote this down (as long as we don’t rest on the arguments and do the grunt work required).
